Project Pink and Heartstrings

Yeah I was kind of busy this weekend, I love string quilts as you can see, I've made so many for my family that I am now doing lots of charity, since I got hooked up with Heartstrings Yahoo Group I quilt for them and donate locally.

End of June

June has been a busy month around here, I added 4 calf's and 6 goats to the farm, not to mention the rabbits having babies! I worked a few shifts at the gas station being 'pizza girl' and I have been quilting up a storm this last weekend. I am taking pic's but the camera is in the studio so they will have to wait. The storms and flooding in Iowa have been on our minds for charity quilts and I am trying to get Project Pink done by October. Mom has a couple to bind and today I am taking Sara there and I will give her more quilts to bind. I think I'm going to have to break down and machine bind some of them as I think 8 quilts is to much to ask my mom to hand bind. Sara started working on Chinese Coins for QOV. A gal is making the quilts on Heartstrings, all we have to do is send the Coins, Sara is getting better all the time at sewing, I am so impressed with her! We are having a party on the 4th so I guess I will spend the week getting ready for that, I'm looking forward to it really, a nice casual party will do me good!

Sara's quilt

Sara is starting to really sew, she picked out the fabric at Quilter's Candy Shop and drew out the pattern she wanted to make, I am really happy with the results of her first try at making up a quilt without a pattern. I quilted it and mom bound it, Sara showed it off at Norfolk Quilt Guild Monday night.

Kevin's quilt

I finally finished Kevin's quilt, Christmas, Valentine's Day and our anniversary has passed, so I guess I will give it to him for his B-day in July. The blocks were a Happy block swap on Stashbuilder's Yahoo group, and I liked the black and white thing so much I made lots more! (I also made baby quilts for my stepsister's twins for Christmas out of the blocks with colored borders) I ran out of pink while binding so it has black and pink binding. I made king size to fit our bed, now the only way I can get away with making my husband a pink quilt is the back......

What guy wouldn't love to have all these girls keeping him warm at night?

Summer cooking

I love early summer, asparagus is my husbands favorite veggie, and the kids love it too. Thanks Mom for the bag, Brad is excited for dinner! I have enough for dinner and I put 3 small bags in the freezer. I made applesauce two weeks ago and I'm thinking about rhubarb jam but finding the rhubarb is another story!

Beautiful day

Today is beautiful! I'm so happy to have a nice weekend finally, not that I'm outside doing anything but I do have the option. Kevin asked me what I was going to do today.....I don't know. I think I will go start laundry, do dishes and feed rabbits..... then nothing. Well not really, I will sew or clean or weed the garden. My tiger quilt is ready for borders and my quilting machine should be running so I'm sure I will fill this beautiful day.

Really love my local quilt shop!

Mom and I spent the morning at the Quilter's Candy Shoppe.....I love that place! I picked up a book called 9 Patch Pizazz on my last trip and today I had to go buy more fabric to make some of the projects in the book. I cut up my tiger fabric last night and had it up on the design board before I quit for the night, the gal who wrote the book was right, you can make a wall hang in one day! So today I bought fabric to match ocean/fish and some to match the old Hoffman challenge fabric I had from my quilt shop days. It's blue and green with orange iris and looks watercolorish. I also bought frog fabric to make a baby quilt with the leftover blocks from the green and purple block exchange on Stash builder's Yahoo sight. I am really excited to finish the tiger quilt, I have the center together and the borders are on the design board, guess my break is over and I better get back to it.

Love my local quilt shop!

I spent an hour today at my local quilt shop, The Quilter's Candy Shoppe. I love that place! Even with the shop girls at shows this weekend there is still so much going on in there. I bought green and purple to match my blocks I won on Stashbuilder's yahoo group, the Block Lottery. I need one more block to make 12 (mom if you read this will you make me one more?) I also bought peach and yellows to make a baby quilt, I have had my eye on this peachy/pink plaid in the sale room for 6 months, today was the day to give in and buy it. I found a floral and a stripe, the green was already in my stash from a project done and long gone. My new Quilts and More magazine had a simple baby quilt pattern so that's the plan for the fabric. I don't usually follow patterns but with my lack of skills lately with making things turn out as planned I decided to try a simple pattern and some pretty fabric's. I can never have to many baby quilts around, someone is always having another baby! I also picked up a book, can't remember the name but it is 9 patch's with big prints, kind of blending the patches into the fabric for a fractured look. I am gonna try it with the wild life prints I have. I did sew yesterday, got a set of pillow cases done for Kristin, the pillows made for Jana, table runner quilted, and Sara finished her quilt top. She wants to give it away now............

June already?

I think I'm in shock, it's June already! I'm hauling corn to the feedlot today, waiting on my little friend to come play(her mommy is having a baby so A. needs a place to play today). Thought my other friend E. was coming to my house but he never showed up, his mommy took him with her today I just found out. Kevin and Brad are changing gear boxes on the irrigation systems, and it's going to rain again! I started cleaning my studio this last weekend, now it's such a mess I can't sew in there, I did throw away two boxes of junk so I feel better but I have so many UFO's it's scary, guess I better get busy and finish a few things up, lol maybe after I plant my garden in the mud......

String UFO

This is one of the many string quilts that is a UFO in my studio, I finished the top last night in between quilting Luanne's quilt(lets not go into that story). I saw a quilt like this on the net somewhere and thought the blue and yellow were a great setting, now I wish I would of saved the pic so I could thank whoever gave me the idea. I found a school theme fabric for borders, now it's really busy, not sure if I like it so I folded it up and set it on the shelf, lately everything I plan and do looks better in my mind so now I'm second guessing my choices. I guess I shouldn't worry so much, some kid somewhere will love this quilt finished!

chinese coins

I love my Heartstrings Yahoo Group, I think they are some of the nicest ladies on the web, they are always doing a special project and this is the latest. RWB Chinese Coin blocks for Quilts of Valor. I love making these blocks, they are no set length, just whatever so they can be added to someones blocks and made into a quilt. I just wish I had more RWB fabric's........oh well whatever I send will help keep someone warm and happy.

Jenny, Raymond and Jacket

I would like to introduce Jenny, Raymond and Jacket, they are the offspring of a 3 year UFO. Mom, Luanne and I took a class thru Quilt Guild with Jenny Raymond and started a Jacket. Well my jacket turned into a UFO when I got home. (decided I don't want to wear my quilts anymore) Luanne and I wanted to make these cute frogs we saw at Quilters Candy Shoppe so being the procrastinator that I am I didn't have frog skin made for our meeting, my jacket back was perfect for frog skin! Not sure what I'm going to do with 2 frogs (Jenny is Sara's, she claimed it before it was finished) and I want to thank Josh for helping me stuff them, it was sure funny to watch us put a funnel in the rear end and pour rice into them!

Retro Recycled Shopping Bag

I finished two shopping bags for Kristin tonight, I think this is the ultimate recycled project, first it's made from an old sheet from the 70's, second it saves using plastic bags and third it's cute and "green"! What else would the new hip earth friendly college student put her junk food in?

Story Board

This is the story board for Quilt Guild in June, Mom is showing little projects this next month and I am in charge of hot pads. This was a giveaway pattern years ago but it's still so handy for gifts and craft shows. I made my Mother in law a table runner and basket out of these colors so when the meeting is over I will finish the set and give to her next October for her B-day. (sorry the pic is sideways, someday I will learn to turn my pic's)

end of May

Wow! Where did the month go? I quit my job a few weeks ago so I could stay home and get life back in order around here, it's not happening! The grass is a foot high due to the storms and the garden is not planted. The weeds in the flower beds are getting big and I don't feel like crawling in the mud to pull them. The rabbits are settling in nicely but I have to many and Kevin is tired of building hutches. I do have a new litter of Checkered Giants, 8 or 9 I think.(never count till day 3 or 4 because mama gets upset if you mess with them) I enjoy setting outside in the evening with the rabbits, kids think I'm nuts but they know where to find me for 'mom time'. Went to Columbus with Kevin overnight Wednesday and spent the day shopping on Thursday. The Goodwill is great there and Sara has a new wardrobe for summer, I picked up a few things for me and Kevin also. I have a table full of apples to can tonight, I'm thinking applesauce and maybe apple butter. I spent the last three hours sewing, I am working on Luanne's quilt in the frame, I have a table runner top ready to quilt for a wedding present tomorrow night, I made the samples for a hot pad storyboard for Quilt Guild in June(now to write up the instructions) and I made Kristin a recycled grocery bag out of an old sheet. She loves bright colors so I found a retro sheet in my stash, cut 16"x27 rectangle and sewed up the sides, boxed the corners and added handles. It's nothing fancy but it will haul grocery's. I like it because it's lightweight, and will fold up flat. Easy to store and what's a college student gonna do with plastic bags from shopping? I'm hoping to get a few more done before she goes off to college. I also have Chinese coin blocks going for Heartstrings Yahoo Group, a gal is collecting them until the 4th of July so when I get bored quilting I set down and whip a few of these up. (ok my foot starts hurting and I can't stand anymore behind the frame) Wow, when I get pictures taken I will have alot to show!

No sewing

It's been a long time since my sewing machine has ran, not from breakdowns but because of operator neglect. I didn't realize graduation would take so much of my life this spring. I enjoyed the last month of school but I am so tired and getting sick didn't help. (finally feel human after 10 days) I am going to sew tomorrow, not by choice but I promised a quilt to be done before Saturday, a wedding quilt! Nothing like waiting till the last minute huh? So tonight I am heading to bed, 4:30a.m. was early and a full day at college will tire a mom out.........it was worth it, Kristin is excited and I'm excited for her.

Chewbacca Bunnies

Ok I am in love with Lionhead rabbits! I love the fuzzy neck thing they have going........I have one sold and three to go from this litter, 5 brown and 2 white from the next litter, wow, Partyline is getting called tomorrow! My rabbit obsession is getting out of control and it's time to thin the herd!

Kassie and Kristin, BFF's since preschool , don't they look happy!

This is the awesome cake Luanne made for Kristin, I don't know what she does but she makes the best cake! We had a great day for graduation, 45 and blowing wind with rain but it didn't matter because everyone came for a party and we had a good one. I finally had to make kids go to bed around 2:00a.m. because I was tired. I am really glad it's over though, I got sick the day after and a week later I'm no better, Sammy went to the vet and got a shot and pills for his kennel cough, I'm thinking I should of had the vet give me a shot and pills for my kennel cough too! Kristin is feeling rough too, I think we all just did to much last week and now we're paying for it. Oh well, graduation was worth it!!!!

Is it over yet?

I sure wish this weekend was over already....I'm tired! Now I know why parents have their kids graduation parties at halls or churches. I'm tired of cleaning and cooking, I have been cooking because all of Kev's family made it in today, I only have green beans and fruit salad to make tomorrow, the cake is here, it's beautiful. All the cleaning left is the floor mopping, everything else is done or forgotten. I'm locking my bedroom door, no time to clean it.......oh well. Kristin is out stringing lights on the deck and the guys are cooking pork(all day thing). I better get back to cleaning odds and ends, the way it's going bed is calling early tonight!

busy time of the year

Kev is in the field, if the thunder storm holds off he will finish today....my cabinet doors are on the deck and all that is left is a coat of poly...........the sun keeps peaking out of the clouds but the way it feels outside I know the storm is gonna roll Thu this afternoon. I have learned that poly does not like to be applied with a roller.....hahaha good thing it's the inside of the doors I did first! I did a little quilting Sunday night, a rather large scrap quilt for a dear lady from Neigh, she is working on graduation quilts for great grand kids! (lucky kids) and I also quilted one from a gal in Orchard, she is legally blind. She will be donating it to the Legion Axillary for a raffle. It's a cute quilt, done with Husker Hankies from 1987. Mom finished the binding and made a label for it today. I will deliver this week yet so she can have pic's and tickets made. ok I better get back to my doors, I think the thunder is getting closer........

Chip

I think Chip had a lot of hair!

He seems much happier with his new haircut, (yes I got to close with the clippers above his eye)

After his haircut all he wanted to do was play with Sammy and Sadie, I think mom and dad got tired of his games cause Sadie pinned him down and bit his ear and made him yelp. He then calmed down and they all took naps on the deck in the sun. I am so suprise by how much Chip looks like Sammy, even down to the white on his chest and the tips of his paws, his temperment is more like Sadie's though, laid back and calm, he does like stuffed animals and has now found a ball he carries around so he still has puppy left in him.

May Day

It's May day, my dad's b-day, my Brother in law's b-day and two days ago we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary with a trip to Menard's and lunch at Whiskey Creek. (with a parts stop at Dinkel's for the planter.) I think spring is in full swing here, I planned my wedding the end of April because Kev assured me no one planted corn before the 10th of May...........hahahaha!!!! A lot has changed in 19 years and Kev has been planting for two days now. I spent today helping move equipment in the field, hauling corn, loading truck and riding my new 4wheeler thru the fields. Sara and I had a surprise with our bunnies tonight, we went to check them and the two sisters were fighting, drawing blood! So we moved them to separate cages. Gave them both more hay and one was moving hers around the cage so I gave her more and thought nothing of it. Went back to check on the bunnies about two hours later and she was pulling hair!! (that means babies!) So I moved the three boy rabbits out of the hutch and put her in, then I had to separate the boys cause they didn't like the smaller cage. So I'm out of cages and my new sister/momma has the hutch to herself, I checked her at dusk and she was pulling hair and piling it on the outside of the building so I blocked her in the building for the night, I will check her first thing in the morning to see if the babies have arrived and so she can get to food and water. I'm excited to think that might be my second batch this spring, Uno pulled hair two days ago but I can't see into her box so it will be a few days before I can check her box without upsetting her.

Madison Auction

I went shopping today, ok so I went to Madison Bird and Small Animal Auction, I shopped for rabbits! (us city girls call auctions shopping!) I met Dawn and we spent the day watching chickens, geese, ducks and rabbits sell. We decided we love auctions and its so much fun to go with a friend who loves animals as much as I do. Dawn took home 5, 3 satins, 1 dutch, and a cinnamon satin. I have the matching siblings. I also got two checkered giant doe's, a doe lionhead, a baby dutch, and a few more........I'm to tired to take pic's and it's dark now, we had to go get some big temporary cages and get them all tucked in for the night. Not sure the kids are impressed but I love them.

My babies

I just love baby chicks! Well it's spring time on the farm, the chicks have been bought! Sara got three bantams (the fuzzy white one in the left corner is her baby) some layers and of course some broilers. I like the brown chicks the best and Sara likes the white ones until they get feathers, then she thinks they are ugly and doesn't want anything to do with them. My big new fancy chicken house is half built. I am looking forward to moving my babies into it when its complete. I am still hoping for rain today.........I'm so tired of hauling poo!

Heartstrings baby quilt

Ok I know this is a loud,busy baby quilt.......ok I know it needed some calm resting strips or borders.......ok I know I should of never sewn it up while I was still on drugs.......but its done, and some baby will love it! (secretly I think its a fun quilt) Gotta say thanks to the gal who sent me these string blocks along with a pile of pink ones, they were a good distraction from the pink. Also gotta thank my FCE club (Extension Club) we made tote bags a few years back and the fabric was leftovers. I love projects that use up leftovers and it was fun to use this up and make it cute.

Strippy baby quilt

This baby quilt has been waiting to be quilted for two years now, Luanne and Grandma Allen both gave me fabric for charity quilts and I kitted up a bunch of baby quilts. I was shocked to realize it had been two years since I did it and it makes me feel guilty to know I'm that behind on my projects! This little quilt is at mom's to have the binding put on then it will find a new home.

Rabbits

Sara is so happy with her new rabbits. A gal from Norfolk had an add on Freecycle for rabbits so when I called her she had 4 left. We now have 2 black and one albino boys and their mom Uno who is expecting again sometime soon. As you can tell the cat was really interested in Uno. This afternoon I will go get more pens for our new pets.

Quiting Cat

I had help quilting this baby quilt the other night, my cat is not afraid of the quilting machine! I don't really have a purpose for this quilt so I am thinking about donating it somewhere, if I get it done before tomorrow night I will donate it to the Auction at the Norfolk Guild. (more than likely I won't get it done so it will go to Bright Horizons at a later date)

Pink and Brown Heart Wallhang

This little quilt is a UFO from the quilt shop. I ordered 1890's reproductions in pink/brown and blue/brown and brown/gold colorways, mom made me a sample in the pink/brown of a block she saw on a t.v. quilting show. When I closed the shop I bagged up a lot of unfinished tops with backing and binding before selling the last of the fabric. Well I need something for the Norfolk Guild's auction tomorrow night so I quilted it and mom finished the binding last night. Nothing like being ready for the auction a whole 48 hours early........lol! I hope it sells for a lot of $$$! I am seeing more of the pink/brown this year so I think it will go well at auction.

hotpads

These are the hot pads I made for Tiny Traders Yahoo group. The theme was spring and I think they turned out cute! I used sample fabric for the prints so I didn't have enough to do them all alike. I also had mom put a copy of the pattern to make them in with the hot pads. I used to sell kits to make these when I had the quilt shop and they seem to still be popular. One year for Christmas mom helped me make over 20 sets for gifts. I have also sold them at craft shows. I have done so many of these I think I could do them in my sleep! The sad part is I could only find a Christmas print one in my drawer, all those hot pads and I only had one! (now I have 2 because I made a spring one for myself!)

Bee's

I have 7 of these boxes on my table tonight. 25 thousand to a box is what Kevin tells me........wow! Needless to say I'm sleeping with my bedroom door shut! They really are well behaved bee's though, there are a few loose but they stay on the outside of the box and don't fly much. The bee's on the inside feed the outside one's so they stay close to their friends. Tomorrow Kevin is setting up 8 new hive's in the backyard.(he forgot one box at his friends so he has to go pick it up in the morning, guess he couldn't count to 8) I am looking forward to the fresh honey at the end of summer and having extra to sell this year.

pink and black row robin

This quilt is called Angels over Africa, the first row has angel fabric in it and the gal wanted an African theme. My row is the tigers on the bottom. I had a hard time giving up my tiger fabric but I am happy with the results of the row I added. I finished both of these rows and gave them to mom so she can add her rows and pop them in the mail next week. I have one more round to do and that will be mom's row, it is Aunt Gracie fabrics.

The bottom row is my addition. I belong to Stashbuilders Group on Yahoo and we are doing a row robin. I had a hard time finding enough pinks to do this row, I used so many making pink heartstring blocks that my stash is zilch! I am really happy with the way I used dark black to make the top row stand out, mom is next in line and she is gonna use the grey/black for background in her blocks. I hope the owner of the quilt likes it when it reaches home.

Fan Quilt

My mom made this quilt for a sample of a class she was teaching a few years ago, it uses pillow panels and machine applique for the fan blades. I was looking thru my pic's tonight and this caught my eye. I wonder where this quilt is now??? Sure would be pretty in Sara's new room....so Mom if you read this and you know where the missing quilt is let me know, I'm sure Sara would love it!

Prom 2008

Brandi and Kristin have been best buds since kindergarten when Kristin found out Brandi lived across the street from the Quilt Shop and they could play together after school. I hope they have a wonderful evening on this special night!

Sara's room

Sara is in the middle of remodeling her room, out goes her sister's lavender walls and carpet. I took this before picture so she can show off her remodeling skills when it is finished. She picked out a light wood floor and pink paint with a purple and pink border print wallpaper. She is my little HDTV watcher. She also helped me match the bathroom accessories up in Wal-Mart the other day. Talked me into frogs.....

Luanne's quicky baby quilts

Luanne makes the cutest quick baby quilts. These are the last two I quilted for her. I love the size 40x40 is perfect for a baby quilt and the colors are fun. I think I have her talked into writing up the directions and sharing them with quilt group so we can make quick quilts too! She left for Texas to visit her son so i will have to wait for her to get back from having fun for patterns for these quilts.

Bathroom

I love having a carpenter brother and his buddy come to visit! Kelsey and Adam are working hard on my new bathroom floor, I love it! It took them about 20 minutes to paint it and an hour to lay the floor once I got everything they needed from the hardware store. We also took off the shower doors off and Kevin is scrapping the caulking off the tub surround. I told them it had to be usable by six so I could take a shower and go to work.

Maxine's scrap quilt

About 5 years ago Maxine was my quilt buddy at the Norfolk guild. I made her these butterfly blocks, one a month for a year. We went on shop hop and picked out and bought the same fabric that spring before so I knew she would love it. Well I got to quilt it last month and I think it turned out so sweet!! (someday I will finish the quilt she gave me blocks for, if I can find them again!)

This is Maxine's quilt. Her sister sent her the blocks already cut and in sets to sew together. I love scrap quilts, and Maxine sews everything together so nice, I love to quilt her quilts!

Brian's Christmas present

This is my brother in laws Christmas present, I finished quilting it when he was here last month. I made this when the Heartstring yahoo group was doing Chinese coin strips last summer. I made a bunch and sent to one of the ladies and they were so much fun that I made enough for this queen plus quilt. I did it in these soft colors to match Brian's other quilts he has so he could retire the lone star quilt his mother made him about 10 years ago. I also made pillow cases to match.

Anna's crosstitch

My friend Anna has been working on this crosstitch off and on for a year. She finished it for her old boss, I am just amazed at the detail on the work. I would of kept it after that much work but she brought it to her last time she visited. I think her boss was happy with the finished piece.(someday I am going to have to learn how to turn my pictures, but for now you will just have to turn your head)

Easter Kids

OH MY WAS IT COLD!!!! Every year I take their picture, some years its warm and sunny, some years it's cold as ____! I know I took better pic's of them but this was the one on my camera. I used Kristin's camera and of course I don't get to see the pic's cause she loads them on her computer and they are gone from me forever.......I love being the mom and making them wear matching clothes!!!

Baby present

I made this quilt for my boss at the gas station, she is expecting her first baby at the end of the month. Jess's favorite colors are red and black and her husband is a volunteer fireman. I think the fire dogs are cute and I think she was pleased with the gift. I wish I would of put black in the cornerstones now that it's done but to late to change cause I quilted it and gave it away before I thought about changing it.

Sh#%&^&*((

yes that's what I am doing today, hauling sh#%^*&*!!! I guess I got a new job for awhile at the neighbor's feed yard. I drive a tractor and spread manure on the field about a mile down the road. It's not a hard job but 8 hours in a tractor and your body starts to feel a little beat up. So I'm off to a nice hot bath and bed. There is a chance of rain/snow (snain as the kids call it) tonight and tomorrow so we'll see what the rest of the week holds weather wise. I have lots of pic's in the camera but the batteries are dead so they will have to wait another day to be shown.

out like a lion

Well March is going out like a lion in our neck of the woods, 6 inches of snow today is my guess. The kids were home from school and I didn't leave the farm. My MIL put her car in the ditch first thing this morning and had to call a tow truck. I enjoyed the day in my studio quilting other people's quilts. Well I did take a nap in the middle of the day, I think I had food poisoning and that slowed me down a lot! I am feeling much better tonight so tomorrow should be a wonderful day. I am working on getting the back log of other people's quilts done this week. 4 down today and 7 or 8 to go. I really want to work on my own stuff or charity so I might sneak one of them in the mix sometime soon. I hope April is better weather wise than March was.........

Josh's quilt

Josh got a new quilt for his new room we did in the basement. He moved out of his brother's room before Christmas, into a corner in the basement. (they just couldn't live together any more!) It's not a fancy room but it's his own space and he's a teenage boy, he don't really notice fancy things. I didn't know what his favorite color was until last month......it's purple! I traded these blocks with Stashbuilder's Internet group and I am really impressed with the quality of the swap. (thanks ladies!) My mom did the binding and traded blocks also so I would have enough to make a good size quilt. It will look great in his purple black and white room. I also made pillow cases and a valance to match.

Heart Strings Pink Project #4

My mom finished the binding on Pink Project #4 last night just in time for a friend of mine to take it home to her mom. Her mom has breast cancer and is taking kemo. She told me last night she has two more treatments then its on to radiation. I made my friend cry when I gave it to her, she loved the quilt and is sure her mom will love it too. I am so thankful every time I look at these pink quilts for the ladies who sewed the blocks and quilt tops, they are making a difference in strangers lives.

machine quilting

Today I am machine quilting. Well I've done three rows on the quilt in the frame anyway....got shaky so I decided it was time to eat. Grilled cheese was quick so that's whats on the menu. I am getting behind on other people's quilts so that is what I will be doing the rest of the day. Talking to my mom on the phone, there is a fire across the highway from her house, they have called in two different fire departments to help and it keeps popping back up. She says there are no houses in the path so that's one good thing. Dinner she made is dried out on the table but I don't think the guys will care once they get back to the house to eat. Now she thinks its going two different directions. She is staying in the house out of the way of the firemen, I think that's a good plan. Well I think I will head back out to the studio to see what kind of trouble I can get in.

Sunday night

Well it's been a long week. I have sewed a lot but I have nothing to show for it. I will post pic's when I get everything back from my mom. (the official binder) I worked the weekend, it was fun to watch all the hungover people come in the gas station for breakfast on their way home from O'Neill. I myself have never ventured up the road for the festivities.....green beer, drunks and cops just isn't my thang.....hehehe. I did enjoy dinner out last night with Kev and 3 kids, they were quite entertaining and we sat in the back corner so I didn't have to keep reminding them to keep the noise down. I'm trying to socialize them but they are teenagers so it is slow going. Sara is home now and complaining that her nose is 'acting up", guess she is coming down with the same thing Kev gave me that Josh gave him that Brad pretended he had.....

Life is interesting at our house sometimes......like when the goats are on the deck......or when I try to get them back in the pen.......or I leave one out cause I can't catch her......ugh! (every time I snapped the pick she looked down, guess she is shy or I'm just slow) Kevin finally tackled her on the hay pile and put her back in the pen with her new boyfriend. We're gonna have babies in August if everything goes as planned.

Row Robin

This is the first row robin completed in my Stashbuilders Yahoo Group. The top row is Lisa's and the bottom row is the one I added. She asked for scrappy, I tried to do like she did and have all different fabric's but in the end I had to repeat a few, (I don't have 60 different brights and 5 different reds in my stash) I'm very happy with the way it turned out and I hope she likes it. I got the next row in the mail today so now it's pink and black block time!

Evil Villain 101

Josh is an awesome Evil Villain instructor! He has received two 1st places for his speech and now he is on Varsity.(not bad for being a freshman!) Their speech team is 30 plus kids and the freshmen are awesome this year and they really like speech so I know they will have a great team next year when they all get some experience. Josh's speech was on how to be an Evil Villain, he is quite the comedian.........
